Procedure for improving job satisfaction in tobacco companies
Main Article Content
Abstract
Job satisfaction is a critical variable in organizational behavior that directly impacts productivity and business performance. At the La Palma Tobacco Collection and Processing Company, deficiencies were identified in its management, such as the absence of a formal job satisfaction management system, authoritarian leadership, and salary dissatisfaction, which motivated this research. The objective was to design a job satisfaction management procedure that contributes to improved individual performance and the achievement of organizational goals. Theoretical and empirical methods were employed: document analysis, surveys, interviews, focus groups, and the Iadov technique for user validation. The diagnostic results revealed an authoritarian leadership style, a lack of clear feedback, and total dissatisfaction with compensation. Based on these results, a five-phase structured procedure was designed based on the PDCA cycle (Plan-Do-Check-Act). The procedure was validated using the Iadov technique with the participation of 15 key actors of the company, obtaining a Group Satisfaction Index of 0.53, which places it in the satisfaction zone.
