Agricultural extension strategy for the introduction of bioproducts in agricultural enterprises
Main Article Content
Abstract
In recent years, the Cuban agricultural sector has implemented measures to revitalize agriculture, in which universities have played a pivotal role. The objective of this research was to design an agricultural extension strategy for the Pinar del Río Agricultural Supplies Company that addresses the introduction of bioproducts and other agricultural inputs into agricultural entities in the region. The historical-logical and analysis-synthesis methods were employed. Through a participatory assessment, the strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities of the agricultural extension process were identified. The research was structured in four stages: assessment, analysis of the assessment, strategy development, and validation using the Delphi method of expert consultation. The matrix weighting showed that the process falls within the reorientation quadrant, indicating a situation characterized by weaknesses and opportunities. The overall assessment of the strategy confirmed its validity and feasibility. The proposed actions constitute a possible response to the internal and external constraints the company faces in introducing bioproducts and other agricultural inputs to entities in the sector.
